Rita Carolina Fernández Prieto learned to cook and love the art of cooking at an early age in Paraguay. She was an apprentice to her Aunt Eulalia Prieto, a locally renowned cook and much beloved motherly figure in the town of Pedro Juan Caballero, Paraguay. Known as Tia Aia, Eulalia shared her love and her food with a wide network of family, friends, and acquaintances. She was the backbone of many large-scale commercial and charity cooking endeavors.

A lawyer by profession,  Rita Carolina moved to Dubai in 2018. She now lives in the US, where she enjoys cooking the foods she learned from her dear Tia Aia.

Joe Weaver is a memoir, life story, and ghostwriter writing his stories and helping others tell theirs for over 20 years. Joe is excited to work on this project. "I know Paraguay has such great stories, I am glad I can help save some of them." He encourages those who have expertise in Paraguayan foods or drinks or good stories about Paraguayan food and wish to pass on that knowledge to contact the Jaha Jakaru book project without delay. “We all remember stories of our parents, grandparents, or other loved ones who are no longer with us we wish we knew more about, now lost forever. We always have less time than we think."
